Farmers and crop consultants can now get instant access to vital information on Rotam’s crop protection products where they need it most – in the field.
Rotam, the UK’s fastest-expanding post-patent, agro-chemical company, has developed a comprehensive new app for 2017, which offers weed charts, tank mixes and product information at the touch of a button.
It provides vital information and answers to questions about weeds and diseases, susceptibility/resistance characteristics, tank mix compatibilities, and application rates. There’s a handy built-in Sulfonylurea (SU) conversion calculator, too.
There’s also a tap-through button to call or email senior Rotam managers for technical advice.
“Customer service is at the heart of our business,” said Dan Macdonald, Rotam’s UK Market Support and Product Development Manager. “We talk directly to our customers and listen very carefully to what they tell us they want, and how we can simplify and improve our service to them.

and then; they don’t want the inconvenience of going back to the farm office to research computer files or consult leaflets.”
Launched at January’s Association of Independent Crop Consultants conference, the app covers a portfolio of four Rotam SU herbicides – Boudha, Ergon, Savvy Premium and Hiatus – and the company’s Tebuconazole-based Toledo fungicide.
Other products in the Rotam portfolio are set to be added, while new releases will be pushed through to the app as they become available to keep users up to date.
“The reception has been very positive,” said Mr Macdonald. “People like its design and tell us they find it simple to use. It’s very concise, the SU conversion calculator is a popular feature – and customers tell us they love the fact that the library of information is available even if they are in a location without connectivity.”
The app includes sprayer tank washing guidelines, information about Rotam’s sprayer tank cleaner Omen, a Frequently Asked Questions section, and a facility to make and save notes on the spot. There is also information and contact details for ordering crop-protection products through buying groups and Rotam Logistics for next-day delivery direct to the farm chemical store.
“The app ticks a lot of boxes for crop consultants and farmers, but we are keen for users to tell us what else they think so we can make further developments,” added Mr Macdonald.
