With industry concerns over the potential quality and yield of this year’s harvest, HGCA has again published its online Harvest Toolkit providing industry information and guidance.

Available on the home page at www.hgca.com, the Toolkit has a wealth of information on market prices, Recommended List Harvest Results, good sampling practice and grain storage. The section also has information on HGCA’s mycotoxin risk assessment and research onspecific weight and wheat feed values. The Cereal Sellers Checklist contains handy hints to help cereal sellers avoid the most common problems with cereal sales contracts.

HGCA Chairman Jonathan Tipples said: “Growers looking to get the best return for their grain should pay close attention to all aspects of sampling, storing and marketing their crop. In seasons where quality could be an issue, it is important growers know their contract terms of any existing or future sales, and avoid penalties by checking they are able to deliver to contract and talk to buyers if there is a problem.”
