New spring break crop contracts from Premium Crops will officially launch this week, including a record value of up to £600/t for spring linseed.

The full suite of contracts with detail will be revealed at CropTec show, which is taking place 14-15 January at the NEC, Birmingham.

“As always, we’re delighted to negotiate specialist, reliable crop contracts for farmers that deliver year-on-year profitability,” says the firm’s James Stroude.

“Not only do they give farmers greater financial certainty – with profitable premiums across linseed, naked oats and flax seed – they help diversify rotations, improve soil health and sustainably reduce pest and disease pressure too.”

Spring Linseed

James points out that linseed is considered a strong entry point for following wheat, and, as well as commanding record prices in 2026, it remains in high demand from feed and livestock producers seeking traceable, high-ALA ingredients.

In Premium Crops’ 2026 Variety Assessment Tables, variety Nulin50 was ranked top for combined yield, oil and ALA content.

Equally, for this season, an EAMU for Emerger (aclonifen) expands the list of pre-emergence herbicides available for spring linseed, alongside options such as Avadex (tri-allate), Katamaran (quinmerac+ metazachlor) and Callisto (mesotrione). This broader herbicide toolbox strengthens early weed control and helps protect yield potential from the start, suggests James.

Naked oats

As well as spring linseed, Premium Crops’ contracts for naked oats should offer growers the potential to earn double the outputof a conventional oat crop, with a £40/t premium over feed wheat, he adds.

According to James, for naked oats, price performance remains strong despite wider cereal market declines, and high-value markets include gluten-free, whole-food and equine sectors, with husk-less grain offering easier processing for end users.

Flax seed

With flax demand strong across fibre markets, Premium Crops is also seeking seed growers for both spring and winter flax seed production, with attractive contract returns of up to £1000/tcontributing positively to farm profitability, says James.

“These crops offer both agronomic benefits and a positive impact on the bottom line; contractor support is also available.

“We can connect growers with specialist machinery providers and it’s also a particularly good opportunity for borage growers already equipped for similar harvest requirements.” To discuss further, visitors can find Premium Crops at stand CT364 at CropTec
