Arable farmers across the UK and Ireland have a new name to turn to for crop inputs, as one of the world’s largest crop protection companies enters the market.
Rainbow says its UK launch follows its proven approach of country-specific actives and formulations drawn from a portfolio of more than 8600 registrations. This is supported by robust manufacturing controls and local technical support – a policy that’s seen its presence steadily grow to more than 110 countries, says AgTIgrow’s* Simon McMunn.
“Rainbow’s ambition for the UK is to encourage growers to re-evaluate their attitudes towards post-patent crop protection. In practice, that means prioritising quality and reliability, in turn delivering product confidence.
“I believe it’s an offer that will resonate with a progressive, professional and technical mindset – the typical modern UK arable producer,” he suggests.
Crop protection exporter
Founded in 2000, Rainbow has become China’s biggest crop protection exporter. With a fully integrated supply chain from R&D to delivery, the firm’s modern, automated manufacturing plants ensure both consistent quality and competitive pricing, adds Simon.
“With that kind of set-up, it should be no surprise to learn that it’s been contract manufacturing for global agchem brands. British farmers have probably already used products manufactured with Rainbow technology.
“Rainbow brings that same disciplined approach to its own post-patent portfolio — not as a mass-generic reseller, but with a deliberate strategy built on tightly controlled production, market-specific formulations, and a focus on performance, trust and value.”
Product availability
Simon highlights that more than a dozen UK registrations will be available, spanning herbicides and fungicides. Every product carries full UK statutory labels, compliant packaging and local technical support. A further 12 registrations are in the pipeline for approval during 2026.
Rainbow’s technical support extends to more than agronomic aspects, adds Simon. “The UK is a long-term prospect for Rainbow. That means a long-term commitment to defending re-registrations of active ingredients through both the UK and EU regulatory systems, as appropriate, providing UK farmers with assured, sustainable agronomy in the years ahead.”
