Two new formulations of insecticide Insyst (acetamiprid) have been introduced with the aim of enhancing operator safety and convenience.
Insyst, marketed in the UK by Certis Belchim, controls aphids in sugar beet and potato crops. Crop manager, Caroline Williams, says two improved formulations have been launched – a liquid and a granule. “These replace the previous powder formulation as part of our policy of continued product development.”
Liquid option
The new liquid formulation Insyst SL contains 120g/l acetamiprid for the control of aphid in sugar beet, fodder beet, potatoes, wheat, rye, triticale and oats; and pollen beetle, cabbage seed weevil and brassica pod midge on oilseed rape.
It comes in an Easyconnect five-litre pack – the cap creates a Closed Transfer System (CTS) when used with compatible couplers, which prevents spills, reduces operator exposure, and speeds up filling.
“Easyconnect is a big step forward in closed transfer systems. It’s an initiative we’re fully behind and Insyst SL is our first product to be made available for it,” says Caroline.
Granule formulation
The alternative granule formulation Insyst SG contains 20% w/w acetamiprid for the control of aphids in sugar beet and potatoes; and pollen beetle in OSR.
This has EAMUs (Extensions of Authorisation for Minor Use) for control of aphids on outdoor fodder beet, and aphids, alfalfa mosaic virus and bruchid beetle on outdoor crops of vining peas and beans.
